Warlincourt Halte British Cemetery, Saulty, France

On 21st June, 1916, 1st London of  167 Brigade, 56th Division moved to billets in Hebuterne where preparations for the forthcoming Somme offensive were in full swing. Large working parties were a feature of their stay here, digging jump-off trenches and bringing up supplies. The enemy was well aware of these preparations and did their best to disrupt them with their artillery and everyday the casualty list rose. On 25th June, William Reardon died from wounds.
